Bridges Monthly Update #7

DM&E Railroad

This year the crews of the DM&E in conjunction with the E-80 contracting crews have completed several significant bridge projects:

· Br# 1506 near Fort Pierre SD - complete reconstruction of the east approach

· Br# 1641 near Judson MN - complete reconstruction

· Br# 464.5 near Sleepy Eye MN - conversion to ballast deck through girder and capacity increase

· Other re-decking a repair projects will be scheduled if funding and weather conditions remain favorable

We have also completed 6 other minor re-decking projects across the system.

Additionally we have replaced two large culverts; one on the Waseca Sub and the other near Otisco on the Heartland Sub.

In the next few weeks we still want to complete major repairs to 3 bridges between New Ulm and Mankato and culvert replacements near Claremont MN and St. Charles MN.

IC&E Railroad

This year we have completed 8 bridges on the IC&E including the underwater substructure repairs to the Turkey River Bridge on the Marquette Subdivision.

We anticipate 6 more bridges will be completed this year which include:

· Br# R 396 and Br# R 384 west of Mason City on the Mason City Subdivision

· Br# R 76 on the Owatonna Subdivision

· Br# I 760 near Braymer on the Kansas City Subdivision

· Other re-decking and re-chording projects will continue as funding and weather permit
