Rail Weekly Update #1

13 April 2005

OFF AND RUNNING ON CWR PROGRAM

To date, we have installed nearly 5 of the roughly 38 track miles scheduled to be completed by the end of the production season.  The 30 miles scheduled to be laid by RJ Corman will be completed by the end of May.  The RJ Corman crews have been on both properties for the last few weeks distributing material and getting equipment in place in anticipation of this years’ projects.  This Corman crew was the same crew that laid over 60 track miles on the DM&E in 2004 and nearly 90 miles of CWR on the Pierre sub in 1996.  The IC&E tie/rail crew will complete the 2005 CWR program when they lay the curve patch rail later in the year.

¨       RJ Corman started, as scheduled, at Revere, Minnesota on Wednesday the 6th of April to lay the 15 track miles of new 136# rail that was unloaded in this area in the first quarter.

¨       Two rail trains were delivered to each property during the first quarter and all unloading went without incident.  The last rail train scheduled for this year’s program, the “Curve Patch” project train, will be welded the last week of April with delivery and unloading scheduled before the middle of May.

¨       Tim Meyer will assist with the supervision of the CWR installation on both properties before moving on to help with switch installation and tie crews.

¨       Darren LeGare’s switch and crossing crew has already assembled two switches at Revere, Minnesota and has installed one in track.  The second switch will go in this week and then the crew will move to Sanborn to install 4 switches there.
