Ties Weekly Update #1

TIE GANGS ALL UP AND RUNNING

 

We currently are planning to use 4 tie crews to install the roughly 90,000 ties that are scheduled for installation in 2005.  Three of the crews will be our own MOW forces and the fourth a contractor.

         

 

¨       The DM&E West tie gang, under foreman Jim Nemec, has started installing ties on the PRC sub division and is scheduled to install a minimum of 11,000 ties on the PRC and Black Hills subs.

¨       The DM&E east tie gang is under foreman Kim Camp for the 2005 production season and will install over 14,000 ties on the Hartland, Waseca and Tracy subs.

¨       Steve Koser is again the foreman of the IC&E tie gang and this crew is scheduled to install nearly 45,000 ties on the Kansas City and River subs

¨       Contractor LA Colo started on the Chicago sub on Monday the 4th of April and will install 12,000 ties at this location before installing 5,000 on the Mason City sub

¨       As of April 11, 2005, nearly 70,000 ties have been delivered and unloaded

¨       The remaining 20,000 ties will be delivered by the end of May

¨       As of April 11th, nearly 10,000 ties have already been installed
