System-Wide
Monthly Update #12
15 December 2007
The 2007 capital season has been completed at this time and this has been a very successful year for the DM&E and IC&E engineering departments as well as the entire Railroad. The highlights of the 2007 capital season were definitely the CWR projects where we laid over 130 miles of new CWR across the two properties. Along with the CWR projects, we have installed 93 turnouts in the CWR areas as well as for other projects. Final updates are on the “rail” page.
2007 was also a very productive year for our tie crews with over 200,000 ties installed on across the system. Details of all the projects are on the “tie” page.
Surfacing crews have surfaced over nearly 900 miles of track in 2007. More updates on the “Surfacing” page.
