ON SCHEDULE
Of
the 146 bridges scheduled to be repaired this year, we have completed 21 of
them, and 8 more are currently works-in-progress as of May 13th. All bridge work is scheduled to be completed
by November 1, 2004. As of now, it appears
we will meet that schedule. Piling
continues to be driven at the Sioux River Bridge. So far everything is on schedule.

E-80
and Osmose are both working between Elkton and Wolsey on RRIF bridges.

The
Sioux River Bridge is being worked on by E-80.
Prep work began on March 15th and on April 12th
they started driving piling with 30 of 78 pilings being driven thus far on east
end with the exception of the abutment.
Work on the west end of the bridge will not begin until the east end is
finished. The track and approach has
been raised 16”. It is on schedule and
will be completed by November 1, 2004.

The
Cottonwood and Mine Creek bridges are slated to begin May 15, 2004 and
completed July 15, 2004.

Gage
Brothers in Sioux Falls is building the ballast tubs for the Mine Creek and the
Sioux Valley Bridges.
