Rail Weekly Update #26

14 October 2004

CWR PROJECTS OVER 95% COMPLETED!!!!

As of October 14 we have installed just over 93 of the roughly 97 track miles to be completed by November 19th.

No CWR was laid last week since the IC&E’s crew is still installing ties, however, we do expect the CWR curve program to get rolling again early next week just south of Ottumwa IA.

We continue to work on the surfacing in the CWR areas on both properties to get those areas up to 40 MPH by freeze up and in fact have completed two of the three areas on the DM&E and are about finished the Calmar project on the IC&E.  When the DM&E project is completed, the running time from Huron to Tracy will have been reduced from nearly 10 hours to just over 4 hours!!

¨       Chad Roob’s crossing gang continues to renew crossings in conjunction with Kent Maxon’s surfacing crew.

¨       Mike Anderson, who in his normal job is the section foreman at Tracy Minnesota, has done an excellent job working with Mark Trudeau and coordinating all of the crews on the Tyler project.

¨       Randy Parmenter’s crew has completed all of the crossings on the Calmar CWR project and will spend the remainder of the season on clean up and other crossing projects on the IC&E “corn” lines.

¨       The clean up effort on the Calmar CWR is near completion and will be completed in front of the final surfacing which is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.

¨       Bledsoe Rail Service is doing the closure welds on the DM&E projects and Railtech crews are doing the closure welds on the IC&E.
